Playback Software setting for SABRE DA8
Foobar 2000 Setup
Please install the driver for SABRE DA8, then install ASIO driver.

An ASIO plugin is needed for foobar. Please download from following link:http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_out_asio
If you want to play SACD, please install the SACD plugin from following link： http://sourceforge.net/projects/sacddecoder/files/foo_input_sacd/
Please copy foo_input_sacd.dll to the component folder under the directory where foobar is installed. Open foobar and select from menu“File” – “Preference” – “Components“. You should see ASIO support, Super、Audio CD Decoder as following illustration. In the case you did not see all of these, repeat above opertation.
Go to “file” – “Preference” – “Tools” – “SACD” and set ASIO Driver Mode to DSD. Please refer to following illustration.
Go to “File” – “Preference”- “Output” – “ASIO” and double click “foo_DSD_asio”. Select “ASIO YULONG Audio 384K DSD DAC” in the ASIO Driver dialogue. Choose “DoP Marker 0x05/0xFA” in “DSD Playback Method”, Select “None”in “PCM to DSD Method”and choose “DSD128” for “Fs”.
Go to “File” – “Preference”- “Output” – “Device”, choose “ASIO：foo_dsd_asio” and press “OK”. The setting will then be done.
Close and open foobar2000, and play a SACD file. The input on the display of DA8 should show “input usb DSD” otherwise the stting is not correct. Please recheck above procedures.
The setting for J.River Media Center: Open J.River Media Center, select “Tools” – “Options” – “Audio”, and under “Audio Output”, choose “Output mode” to “WASAPI ‐ Event Style” (However you should choose “Kernel Streaming” for Windows XP).
Dobule click on “output mode”, and choose “YULONG Audio USB” in the pop out window under “Device” section.
Set all “Sample Rate” to “No Change”, choose “Source number of channels” in “Channels” and choose “Source bitdepth” in “Bitdepth”.
Go to “Audio” – “Settings” – “Bitstreaming” and choose “Custom”
Then select “DSD ovet PCM (DoP)” in the “Dop Format” of the pop out dialogue.
Save the setting and quit the software. Open it again and play a SACD file. The input on the display of DA8 should show “input usb DSD” otherwise the stting is not correct. Please recheck above procedures.
